Multifocal lenses — progressives, bifocals and workspace lenses — are for anyone with presbyopia. They let you see multiple focal points, like distance and reading, all in a single lens, so you're not switching glasses through the day.
How progressive lenses work
Progressive lenses, often called 'no-line bifocals', are multifocal lenses with no visible lines. The top of the lens corrects distance, the bottom corrects reading, and the middle progresses smoothly between the two for intermediate distances — avoiding any sharp jump in prescription.
Vision flows smoothly from distance at the top, through intermediate, down to reading — with no visible line.
Progressives
'No-line bifocals' — multifocal lenses with no visible lines. Distance up top, reading at the bottom, and a smooth intermediate zone in between.
Bifocals & Trifocals
Multifocal lenses with visible lines separating distance and reading zones. The line makes it easy to find each zone quickly.
